This is pretty much the way I make tools.

These Japanese tools are all hand made and perform for the hand tool user because of the fine points of their manufacture. This is how I make the tools that come out of my shop. I may one day have machinery but I haven't to date because I want to learn the ways of hand tooling and the skills like hand filing and scraping that go into my dovetailed planes.

Here's an article about tool design and development. I think the reason I like toolmaking is wrapped up in the process of producing and improving a tool for use. since I'm a woodworker that makes tools I have an opportunity to both build and test each of my products. memorial day,remember the heroes

Memorial day is a time to remember the service and sacrifice that all of our citizens have given to us in their defense of our country. We remember our grandfathers and fathers and uncles,cousins and friends who have served unselfishly for our benefit. To all of these living and those who have died we salute you on this special day. For all of our family members who have served and though there have been many in the families that make up our larger family, there has been no serious injuries either in war time or peace time service. For this fact we thank God and remember Sean in a special way knowing that God loved Sean no less than our other relatives and friends. God saw fit to put an honest to goodness hero in our family and we have pledged ourselves to never forget his bravery,honor and loving heart on this and every day that the Lord gives us.
